Community Support
Here at Winfield ISD we have fantastic community support. Thanks to some of our Community Members, Lowes Home Improvement Center and East Texas Earthworks to name two major contributors, WISD has some exciting, must see renovations and additions.
During Spring Break back in March, Lowes Home Improvement Center along with WISD faculty and staff members, as well as many community volunteers completely renovated four restrooms. Two restrooms are in the elementary hall while the other two are on the Jr. High side. The renovations included new shiny white tile with green borders from floor to ceiling, new bathroom fixtures including mirrors, sinks, and commodes. All renovations were completed using only volunteer workers from the companies or community members. These volunteers would arrive early in the morning and sometimes stay until midnight or after trying to finish the four bathrooms. When the students arrived after spring break, the excitement that was in the air was palpable. Students walked in admiring the new facilities full of wonder and awe.
The second project began in June. Volunteers are busy building a pavilion and doing dirt work on the new soccer field. The faculty and staff are excited and want to welcome students and parents to come and use these new facilities after school and on weekends.
Winfield ISD is proud to have high quality teachers, administrators, and staff members working in partnership with parents and the community to ensure the success of every student.
